Job description
Overview: Under the supervision of the Director of Cardiac Services, the incumbent performs duties involving direct patient care and operation of highly sophisticated radiographic and computer equipment in the interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory. The Technologist will assist the Cardiologist and/or Interventional Cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The Technologist must possess a general knowledge of infection control guidelines, universal precautions, sterile procedures, and must work cohesively with a team. Responsibilities: Assists the physician in the performance of invasive cardiac procedures. Has thorough knowledge of all Cath Lab Equipment and maintenance of it and administers direct/indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Able to provide direct and indirect cardiovascular clinical care during established procedures. Qualifications: Education
- Graduate of an accredited a RCIS program Required or
- Graduate of an accredited program in nursing, respiratory, paramedic, imaging, or exercise physiology. Required
- 1 year Healthcare Imaging, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, Respiratory, or RN experience Required or
- No experience required if a graduate of an RCIS program Required
- Based on healthcare experience (see above), applicable license. Upon Hire Required and
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist If a graduate of RCIS program RCIS within 2 Years Required or
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Upon Hire Required or
- RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
- ACLS Upon Hire Required
