The CAD/CAM Engineer supports production of custom cabinetry for Retail, Builder, and Commercial accounts. This role focuses on creating accurate production-ready drawings and CNC programs that drive efficient manufacturing of large-scale custom cabinet orders. We are looking for candidates who understand the principles of custom cabinetry manufacturing and can work effectively with modern CAD/CAM systems used in the woodworking industry.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed shop drawings and production documentation ready for production approval and manufacturing.
  • Support continuous improvement of design-to-production workflows.
  • Ensure designs meet quality, constructability, and production standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to deliver accurate, on-time output in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meet defined productivity and quality metrics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or woodworking manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cabinetry or woodworking CAD/CAM platform (may include Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, 2020, Mozaik, SWOOD / SWOODDesign / SWOODCAM, BSolid, WoodWOP, or similar.) 
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming concepts and G-code for woodworking equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a self-directed, production-driven environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years designing and programming custom cabinetry or large-scale woodworking projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technology, or related technical field.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Cabinet Vision, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, SWOOD, WoodWOP, Microvellum, Mozaik, 2020 Design, Cut Rite, HOMAG Machines, or comparable systems.
  • Familiarity with panel processing, nesting optimization, and CNC routing/drilling workflows.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, hardware, and joinery common in custom cabinetry.
  • Background in custom manufacturing environments with high mix / high complexity product.
