Assists physicians in endoscopic and interventional procedures and maintains equipment and supplies in the endoscopy department. Cleans and disinfects equipment, provides patient care under RN direction, keeps patient charts and records, and completes patient charges.
Responsibilities: Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic and various complex interventional cases. Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order. Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy. Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation. Completes charges for patients. Qualifications: Education
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred
- 2 years of Endoscopy Tech experience Required
- Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
- GTS Certification Preferred
- AGTS Certification Preferred
