Maintains and repairs automated food production equipment such as mixers, ovens, conveyors and packaging machines. Troubleshoots mechanical systems, performs preventive maintenance and helps install new production lines.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair automated equipment such as mixers, ovens, conveyors, proofers, slicers, and packaging machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics, hydraulics)
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime
- Support automation systems (working alongside electrical/PLC technicians)
- Install and commission new machinery or production lines
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and safety standards (GMP, HACCP)
- Minimize production stoppages in a high-volume, continuous operation
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Industrial mechanics and machine maintenance
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Conveyor systems and high-speed packaging equipment
- Basic understanding of automation and PLC-controlled machinery
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Qualifications (Typical)
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Maintenance
- Experience in food manufacturing or automated production environments (preferred)
- Knowledge of food-grade materials and lubrication
- Willingness to work shifts or on-call

- Fast-paced, automated production floor
- Temperature variations (ovens, freezers)
